Pastures and Turn-outs
The pastures and turn-outs at Hiwassee Equestrian Center were designed to accommodate small groups of horses and individual horses. The fencing was installed by Penrod Fence and Lumber Company in Simpsonville, Kentucky. Features include:
- 4-board post and rail fencing
- 5-strand high tension wire fencing
- Run-in shelter
- Fertilized and seeded annually

The Training Arena
For optimum performance, equine athletes need excellent footing to train on. The majority of injuries in performance horses come from intense training in sub-standard footing. Hiwassee Equestrian Center's training arena was designed with top performance in mind. Features include:
- 20 x 60 meter dressage arena with sand and rubber mix footing
- 200 x 150 foot oval arena
- Lights
- Irrigation system for a dust-free ride
- 65 feet of mirrors
- Regular dragging and maintenance
Jumping Course
Hiwassee Equestrian Center has a beautiful grass jumping course. There are currently 8 fences available for schooling, and more fences will be added in the future. All fences are maintained for the safety of horse and rider.
Harmony with Nature Trail Head
Hiwassee Equestrian Center has access to over 4 miles of well-maintained riding trails throughout the Harmony with Nature Wildlife Perserve. You and your horse will enjoy the trails as they wind through the cathedral of pine trees planted by Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency (TWRA). In addition to the Harmony with Nature Trail Head, boarders have access to over 40 acres of open land for riding out.
